🔒 Core Privacy Principle (100% Offline Financial Vault):

SpendAI is built on an offline-first architecture. All your sensitive financial data—including transactions, income, expense logs, category budgets, bank balances, and Khata debts—is stored exclusively on your local device. We do not transmit, sell, or store your financial records on any external cloud servers.

1. Information We Collect and How It Is Used

A. User-Generated Financial Data (Stored Locally Only)

  • Expense & Income Records: Amounts, transaction titles, dates, categories, and personal notes.
  • Accounts & Balances: Wallet names, custom account labels, and balances.
  • Khata & Debt Logs: Contact names, money lent/borrowed amounts, and due dates.
  • Local Storage: All this data is saved directly on your device storage using secure key-value vaults. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a PDF/CSV file or create a JSON backup.

B. Device Permissions & On-Device Processing

  • Audio / Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used solely when you tap the microphone button to dictate expense details via Voice Entry. Audio speech-to-text processing occurs directly via system speech recognizers and is never recorded, saved, or uploaded to any server.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used strictly to deliver your daily 9:00 PM evening reminder to log your daily spendings.
  • Biometric / Fingerprint (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used only locally on your device to unlock the application if you enable App Lock. Biometric authentication is handled by Android OS hardware security; our app never has access to raw biometric data.
  • Network & Internet (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to fetch dynamic app configuration (such as version updates and feature flags) and display advertisements via Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network.

2. Third-Party Services & SDKs

To support ongoing maintenance, cloud feature flags, and advertisement monetization, our app integrates trusted third-party SDKs that may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic and advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID, IP address, device model, and OS version) in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

  • Data Portability: You have complete ownership of your data. You can export PDF statements, Excel CSV spreadsheets, or full encrypted JSON backups, or erase all data instantly via Settings > Danger Zone > Reset App Data.

SpendAI is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate measures.

5. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

Depending on your location, you have the right to access, export, or delete your data at any time. Because our app does not store your records on centralized servers, you have immediate, direct control to delete or export all records directly within the app settings.
